Training plane crash in Orsk kills three

Three people were killed on February 2 in the crash of a Diamond DA 40 training plane in Russia«s Orenburg region. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. local time in the settlement of Dzhanatalap, which is part of the city of Orsk.
The aircraft was on a training flight. When rescuers arrived at the scene, they found no fire. The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) stated: «Unfortunately, three people were killed.»
The Ural Transport Prosecutor«s Office reported: »According to preliminary data, today around 1 p.m. local time in the area of the settlement of Dzhanatalap in the Orenburg region, a Diamond DA 40 training plane crashed.« A pre-investigation check has been initiated under Article 263 of the Russian Criminal Code, which deals with violations of air transport safety and operation rules. The transport investigative committee for the Volga and Ural Federal Districts said a procedural decision will be made after the check.
Preliminary information indicates the plane belongs to the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation. University representatives, commenting on the situation, said: «We are not yet aware of the details, we are finding out.»
