Traffic Police Reveal Details of Deadly Crash Involving Hospital Staff

Two cars collided near Uren, leaving one hospital employee dead and three people injured, according to regional authorities.

Yesterday, January 21, employees of the Tonshaevskaya Central District Hospital were involved in an accident in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result, one person died and three were injured. Details were provided by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

The fatal crash occurred on Wednesday at around five in the morning at the 184th kilometer of the R-159 highway «Nizhny Novgorod — Shakhtunya — Kirov». The driver of a Ford EcoSport lost control and entered the oncoming lane, where it collided with a LADA Largus. The second vehicle contained employees of the Tonshaevskaya Central District Hospital — they were on a business trip to Nizhny Novgorod.

As a result of the collision, the 58-year-old hospital driver died at the scene, and a 59-year-old nurse sustained multiple injuries — she was taken to the hospital. The driver and passenger of the foreign car were also injured. Their condition has not been disclosed. The regional State Labor Inspectorate is investigating the industrial accident.

On Tuesday, two cars collided on a highway near Arzamas. As a result, three employees of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Industrial and Entrepreneurial Development Corporation died. Condolences to the families of the deceased were expressed by the head of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, Maxim Cherkasov.
