Traffic blocked on M-5 highway due to truck accident

Traffic on the federal M-5 «Ural» highway in the Chelyabinsk region is blocked due to a serious road traffic accident. Restrictions are in effect at the 92nd kilometer of the road, located in the Kunashak district past the settlement of Bolshoy Kuyash, in the direction of Yekaterinburg.

As reported by the regional department of the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI), the accident involved a truck:

«On the 92nd kilometer of the M-5 »Ural« highway (approach to Yekaterinburg), a road traffic accident occurred involving a truck. Currently, traffic patrol units and special equipment are working at the scene to extract the vehicle from the ditch. Traffic towards Yekaterinburg is heavily restricted, and lengthy delays are possible.»

Motorists heading towards the Ural capital are recommended to look for alternative routes in advance. The traffic police also ask drivers to be prepared for significant delays in the area where emergency recovery work is being carried out.
