In Igrynsky District of Udmurtia, three villages have been left without electricity due to frosty weather. This was reported by the press service of the municipal administration.
According to the regional Hydrometeorological Center, January 23 will be the coldest day this week. Overnight, the thermometer dropped below -30 degrees Celsius (-22°F). The average daily temperature is forecast to be 13–17 degrees Celsius below regional climate norms.
Due to abnormally frosty weather in Igrynsky District, wires on a power line snapped. As a result, since 04:00, residents of three villages have been without electricity: Bachkeyevo, Belskoye, and Sundoshur.
An emergency repair team has been dispatched to the site. Power supply is planned to be restored by 12:00 local time. All current information will be posted on the official page of the Igrynsky District administration on the social network VKontakte (VK).
In connection with the frosts, residents of Udmurtia are advised not to let children outside unnecessarily. If you live in a private house, check the condition of the water supply and electrical wiring: they could have been damaged due to the sudden cold snap.
