The water supply has frozen near houses at Lenina Street, 102, 104, and 106, in the Polutovsky quarter of Chita, with no water for two weeks, an entrepreneur renting an office in one of the buildings told Chita.Ru on January 28. The city administration commented on the situation, stating that a state of heightened readiness has been declared within the boundaries of these homes.

«We»ve had no water for two weeks already, and the toilets don«t work. Water delivery was only barely organized on Monday. Residents appealed to Vodokanal-Chita, but they said they have no relation to the water networks at our address, and they also appealed to the city utilities committee. No one can clarify the situation with the water supply; people have already despaired of waiting for repairs. At the beginning of January, the water supply already froze because it»s not properly sealed or insulated,« the woman said.

In the city administration, they told the correspondent that specialists assessed the situation and decided that it would not be possible to thaw the water supply. Therefore, a state of heightened readiness has been introduced, and design-estimate documentation is being prepared for laying a new water supply branch to the houses.

The press service of Vodokanal-Chita confirmed that the networks do not belong to them, but on the administration«s instruction, the company has organized daily water delivery from Lenina Street from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
