A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fire in a sauna on Kubanskaya Street in Prokopyevsk, where five minors died, the prosecutor«s office of Kemerovo Oblast reported on Saturday, January 31.
The case has been initiated under the article «Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements for life or health,» the investigation is under review by the prosecutor«s office of Kuzbass. Forensic experts are working on the scene, and a number of examinations have been appointed.
A source from NGS42.RU in law enforcement agencies reported that the bodies of teenagers aged 16 to 22 were allegedly found in the pool, preliminarily, they died from smoke inhalation. Part of the building where the establishment was located collapsed. It is being checked whether there are other visitors under the rubble.
According to Kuzbass Ministry of Emergency Situations, it took about an hour to extinguish the fire, and dousing and inspection of the premises are being conducted.
Earlier, NGS42.RU reported that, according to the establishment, it was permitted to bring alcoholic beverages into the saunas.
