Teenager Threatens Bus Driver with Knife in Pushkin

On January 22 in Pushkin, the driver of bus route number 545 was forced to stop after a group of teenagers started hitting the vehicle«s windows with their hands and a backpack. This was reported by the carrier»s press service.

According to the company, the incident happened in the evening when the bus, having left the stop, was delayed at a traffic light. A young man and a girl approached and demanded to be let in, but the driver refused, citing the rules that boarding is only allowed at stops.

In response, the teenager made an offensive gesture and started banging on the windows, posing a threat to passengers. The driver stopped the bus, and the couple entered the cabin. The driver demanded that they get off, as he could not assess their state of mind.

Then, the young man, pushing off from the door handrails, tried to kick the driver with both feet, but missed and fell out of the bus. After that, according to the carrier, the hooligan threatened to cut the driver with a knife. The driver called the police.

In connection with the incident, an internal investigation has been initiated. The driver has been suspended from work and will appear before a traffic safety commission, where his actions will be evaluated.

Acting Chairman of the Transport Committee Dmitry Vanchkov stated: «I give a harsh assessment of the driver»s actions, who grossly violated job instructions.«

The Investigative Committee is checking the driver«s actions for hooliganism. In the published footage, it can be seen that the driver immediately made physical contact with the teenager. It remains to be determined whether the young man fell on his own or was helped, and what object the driver displayed at the end of the conflict.
