The Nizhneudinsk City Court sentenced a 16-year-old boy to 8 years in a penal colony for a knife attack on two elderly men. He killed one and wounded the other. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts of Irkutsk Region.
The incident occurred in the summer of 2025 in the city of Alzamay. The boy was drinking with two elderly men. At some point, he grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked his drinking companions, resulting in one death.
In court, the boy admitted his guilt but stated that he did not intend to kill anyone.
He was found guilty on two charges: «Murder» and «Intentional infliction of grave bodily harm using an object as a weapon.» The 8-year sentence will be served in a juvenile correctional colony.
The verdict has not yet taken legal effect.
