According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on January 30, a suspect has been detained in St. Petersburg for shooting with a pneumatic weapon, which led to the injury of a 22-year-old local resident. The incident occurred near the Academ-Park shopping and entertainment complex.

Two days prior, on Grazhdansky Prospekt, unknown individuals fired a pneumatic pistol. The bullet hit the cheek of a young woman passing by. The victim noticed teenagers with weapons nearby, but they managed to flee before police arrived. The identities of the perpetrators were established through surveillance camera footage, and the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on charges of hooliganism.

The detainee turned out to be a 16-year-old resident of Severny Prospekt, who is neither employed nor in education. He stated that the shot was accidental and that he had no intention of harming anyone. The suspect explained that the bullet ricocheted and hit the girl«s cheek. The teenager was placed in a temporary detention center.
