Teenager attacks ambulance driver in Leningrad region

The incident occurred in Taitsy, Gatchinsky District of the Leningrad region. An ambulance driver who had delivered medics to a call involving a teenager became a victim of an attack himself by a 15-year-old schoolboy.

According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the 50-year-old emergency service worker was injured on the evening of February 1 near a railway platform. The teenager later explained that he mistook the driver for an unrelated onlooker watching the medical team«s work.

Police detained the ninth-grader from the village of Aleksandrovka and took him to the station. Interrogation was conducted in the presence of his mother. A criminal case has not yet been initiated. The ambulance driver was diagnosed with bruises; after receiving aid, his condition was assessed as satisfactory.
