A fatal road traffic accident involving a pedestrian occurred in the Lomonosovsky District of the Leningrad Region.
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the tragedy happened on 19 January around 19:00 in Ropsha. A 68-year-old driver of a Saab 9-7X SUV hit a person on the 17th kilometer of the Kipen — Gatchina road.
Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian was crossing the roadway in an area not designated for this purpose. His clothing lacked reflective elements.
The State Traffic Inspectorate is conducting an inspection into the incident to establish all the circumstances of the crash.
