Suspect in murder of 9-year-old boy interrogated

Employees of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg conducted an interrogation of the detainee, suspected of murdering a minor. Also, investigative actions are planned with him directly at the scene of the incident. This became known on February 3.

The body of a 9-year-old child was found in a reservoir located in the Lomonosovsky District of the city. It concerns the area of the Lower Shingero Waterfall. A complex of necessary forensic examinations has already been appointed in the case, including a forensic medical examination.

Pasha disappeared on January 30 at approximately 14:00. The boy left his home in the Krasnoselsky District and later got into a car with an unknown man, after which contact with him was lost. Law enforcement officers managed to establish the identity of this person and detain him in the territory of the Pskov Region.

On the evening of February 2, the detainee gave testimony in which he told the investigator about the circumstances of the child«s murder and indicated the place where he hid the body. He mentioned an unfrozen reservoir near the settlement of Yalgelevo. Law enforcement officers promptly went to the indicated place for searches, to which volunteers initially joined, but soon their participation in the operation was stopped.

Investigators have already carried out a number of actions as part of the investigation:

• searches at the suspect«s places of stay;
• inspection of his car;
• examination of information carriers on which important information for the case was found;
• seizure of a number of material evidence.

The four-day search ended tragically. The criminal investigation continues.
