Suspect in kidnapping of 9-year-old Pavel detained outside St. Petersburg
The suspect in the kidnapping of nine-year-old Pavel was detained outside Leningrad Region. The child was not with him, and the search continues.

The man suspected of kidnapping was detained on February 2 in a region neighboring St. Petersburg. He is being brought to the city, but the boy himself was not found with the detainee.
Nine-year-old Pavel went missing on January 30 when he left home for a walk during the day at 38 Krasnoselskoye Highway. Over 200 volunteers participated in the search operations. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article on murder, and the criminal investigation department formed an operational group to coordinate with the police and Rosgvardiya (National Guard).
According to preliminary information, around 16:00 on January 30, the child exited the hypermarket «Lenta» and headed to the fast-food restaurant «Vkusno – i tochka». Witnesses report that Pavel approached a car with a broken bumper and possibly offered to wash windows for money. After a brief conversation with the driver, the boy got into the car, and the vehicle drove away.
