Suspect Arrested in Robbery on Prazhskaya Street
Police in the Frunzensky District of St. Petersburg have detained a man suspected of robbing a jewelry store.

The arrest followed a robbery at a jewelry store in the Yuzhny Polyus complex.

On the night of January 30, police detained a 32-year-old suspect near house 19 on Kupchinskaya Street. He is suspected of committing a robbery in the «Yuzhny Polyus» (Southern Pole) shopping and entertainment complex located on Prazhskaya Street.
Police apprehended the suspect after he fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.
The incident occurred the day before. According to law enforcement, the man picked up one gold chain in a jewelry store, after which the seller, at his request, put a second one on him. Without paying for the goods, the citizen left the sales area, got into a vehicle waiting in the parking lot, and fled the scene.
The total value of the stolen jewelry is estimated at 275,980 rubles (approximately $2,800 at current rates). A criminal case for robbery has been initiated in connection with the incident. The detainee was taken to the police department for further investigation.
