Student from Yekaterinburg Freed from Slavery in Myanmar

She will be sent to Russia in the near future.
Russian national Madina D. was rescued from a fraudulent call center in Myanmar, where she was illegally detained and forced to work, the Russian Embassy in Thailand reported.
According to the Telegram channel Mash, the native of Yekaterinburg fell victim to a «transnational fraudulent network» whose members recruit foreigners under the guise of legal employment in Thailand. The organizers first offer an online interview, then invite them to a meeting in Bangkok. After that, victims are transported to Myanmar bypassing official border checkpoints.
«Madina D. arrived in Thailand at the invitation of the »employer«, after which she was forcibly moved to Myanmar and involved in illegal activities in an illegal call center,» the embassy explained.
The girl is currently at a migration center in the city of Myawaddy. She will be sent to Russia in the near future.
It is worth noting that this is not the first case of abduction of Russian women in Myanmar. A similar situation occurred in September last year. In Thailand, a girl was deceived and taken to Myanmar, where she was forced to work in fraudulent call centers.
