Following the collapse of a shopping mall building on Naumov Street, a state of emergency has been locally introduced. Novosibirsk Mayor Maxim Kudryavtsev announced this on his Telegram channel on January 22. According to him, this is necessary for the work of specialized services.

«The building has been disconnected from utility networks, the area remains cordoned off. There is constant monitoring of the condition of the structures and the adjacent territory,» he added.

The rescue operation was completed yesterday, but debris clearance work will continue today, concluded Maxim Kudryavtsev. More than 350 rescuers worked at the collapse site.
