Stable Fire Near Yekaterinburg Kills 15 Horses
On the night of January 23, the stable «Dobraya Loshad» (Good Horse) burned down in the village of Boyarka near Yekaterinburg. Fifteen horses died in the fire, and one person was injured.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) for Sverdlovsk Region, the fire on Kamyshenskaya Street started at 01:20. The fire spread over an area of 500 square meters. Thirteen rescuers arrived at the scene. They managed to extinguish the fire by 04:55, and finished watering down and dismantling the burned structures by 07:14.
Several Ural residents whose horses were kept at the equestrian club contacted the editorial office of E1.RU.
«The premises were heated by heat guns and a homemade heating system. There were no cameras or fire safety systems. I was called and told that my horse burned. They will try to hush up the case because the stable owner is a respected person. The owners are ready to file a class-action lawsuit,» said E1.RU reader Yevgeniya.
«All the animals perished. We had a horse standing there,» added E1.RU reader Maksim.
E1.RU was unable to quickly reach representatives of the equestrian club and obtain a comment on the cause of the fire. As soon as a response is received, we will update the publication.

A representative of «Dobraya Loshad» responded that all 15 horses that were in the stable died.
«An investigation is underway and will determine the cause of the fire,» the company added.
This is not the first such case. Several years ago, in the Uralmash district, 12 horses burned alive in a stable fire.
