On January 23, the First Western District Military Court delivered a guilty verdict to Anna Osipova for committing a terrorist act. She was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
The state prosecution sought 13 years of imprisonment for the defendant. During the trial, it was established that Osipova purchased a canister of gasoline, prepared a flammable mixture, and threw three bottles with this mixture into the windows of the 37th police department on Korablestroiteley Street. The woman acted according to the instructions of an unidentified person, whose criminal case has been separated into independent proceedings.
As Osipova explained, in May 2025, fraudsters contacted her. They convinced her that her account on the «Gosuslugi» portal had been hacked, and loans had been taken out in her name to aid the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To «avoid criminal responsibility» and get rid of the debts, the perpetrators ordered her to commit arson.
As a result of the incident, the assembly hall in the police building was charred. The Ministry of Internal Affairs employees extinguished the fire on their own before the arrival of fire crews. No victims or casualties were reported.
