St. Petersburg Search for 9-Year-Old Boy Hits Day Four

Nine-year-old Pavel Tifitulin went missing on January 30 after leaving a hypermarket. According to eyewitnesses, he may have gotten into a stranger's car.

The search for nine-year-old Pavel Tifitulin in St. Petersburg has entered its fourth day. The boy left home to go for a walk on January 30 and did not return. According to information from eyewitnesses, the child was last seen near the Lenta hypermarket on Tallinnskoye Highway, where he possibly got into a stranger«s car.

Preliminary data indicate that around 5:00 PM on January 30, Pavel left the store and headed towards the neighboring restaurant «Vkusno — i tochka». Witnesses report that he approached a car with a damaged bumper and likely offered to wash the windows for money. After a brief conversation, the boy got into the car, and it drove away.

The search and rescue team «LisaAlert» announced the scaling down of the search headquarters for the child. In a statement, the organization said:

As a result of operational coordination, it was decided to continue the search without a headquarters, based on informational work. All priority tasks have been completed.

Under the team«s posts on social media, users continue to offer help. Among the comments are: »If help is needed, write. I can bring by car, take, etc.«; »Ready to help«; »Ready to help, I have an SUV, I can organize food.«

Pavel went missing on the afternoon of January 30, leaving to go for a walk from home on Krasnoselskoye Highway. Over 200 volunteers have been involved in search operations. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under the article on murder. A special group has been formed with the participation of police and Rosgvardiya (the National Guard of Russia) to coordinate actions.
