St. Petersburg Man Tried for Drunken Car-Jumping Spree

A St. Petersburg resident has been charged with a criminal offense for a drunken rampage in which he damaged three parked cars. The case has been forwarded to a district court for consideration.

The St. Petersburg Prosecutor«s Office has submitted the materials of the criminal case concerning the deliberate damage of three cars to the Krasnoselsky District Court. The incident was caused by a drunken outburst caught on video: a young man was jumping from one car to another.

The incident involved a man jumping on parked cars in St. Petersburg, causing damage estimated at 90,000 rubles.

According to the investigation«s version, the incident occurred on the night of September 28, 2025. A group of friends were bored, and the 24-year-old St. Petersburg resident, under the influence of alcohol, decided to take photos with cars near building 200 on Veteranov Avenue.

  • First, he climbed onto a Chery Tiggo,
  • then walked on the roof of an Audi, leaving dents and scratches on the hoods and roofs,
  • and finally kicked the headlight of a SsangYong car.

A criminal case has been initiated under the article for intentional damage to someone else«s property committed out of hooligan motives. The damage caused to the three owners is preliminarily estimated at about 90,000 rubles (approximately $900 at current rates).

The accused has fully admitted guilt and expressed remorse. He explained that he did not think about the possible consequences of his actions.

The judge will have to consider the case on its merits and make a decision.
