St. Petersburg Doctors Save Children from 16th Floor
In St. Petersburg, doctors are fighting for the lives of two girls who fell from a balcony of a high-rise building. According to investigators, they were thrown by their mother, who then committed suicide.

Medics at Children«s Hospital No. 1 on Avangardnaya Street are providing assistance to two sisters born in 2024 and 2025. Their condition is assessed as serious; the patients are in the intensive care unit.
The tragedy occurred in the Lomonosovsky district of Leningrad region, in the village of Novogorelovo. According to investigators, a 23-year-old woman, a citizen of another country, on the morning of 3 February alternately threw her young daughters from a common balcony on the 16th floor. After that, the woman took her own life. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on charges of attempted murder of minors. The Prosecutor«s Office of Leningrad Region is overseeing the investigation.
