Special Forces Detain Armed Men in Snowy Yekaterinburg
Local residents alerted authorities to the presence of armed individuals on the street.
In Yekaterinburg, near the Pyaterochka store on Gotvalda Street, 22, special forces with assault rifles forcibly pinned three men face-down in the snow. The footage shows a confiscated rifle, resembling a combat weapon, and a pistol. The special operation and dialogue with the «shooters» was captured on video.
The detained men complied with orders and did not resist arrest.
In the frames, security forces hold the men at gunpoint and order them to lie on the ground with their hands behind their heads. On the snow lies a rifle belonging to one of them, similar to a combat weapon, as well as a pistol.
Rosgvardiya officer (R.): On the ground, quick! On the ground, damn it! Get down on the ground fast!
Shooter (S.): Guys, it«s not loaded!
R.: Get down on the ground, hands behind your head! Hands behind your head! Lie down! I said get down! Straighten your legs.
R.: What is this?
S.: It«s just toys.
R.: What, can toys be carried like that, in the open?
S.: We didn«t know, brothers.
«Passersby say that these men were walking down the street and shooting,» one eyewitness told E1.RU.
The National Guard of Russia (Rosgvardiya) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) have so far refrained from official comments.
Updated: The National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided details on the detention. Two units of non-departmental security were involved. The men and their weapons were taken to Police Department 11.
