Sole survivor of ambulance crash remains in serious condition
On Friday, January 30, a horrific accident occurred on a highway in Prikamye: a car and an ambulance carrying patients collided. The crash killed four people, and two injured individuals were taken to the hospital. Today, the Ministry of Health of Prikamye provided an update on the survivors« conditions.
On the afternoon of January 30, the ambulance, a Lada Largus, was transporting four patients after hemodialysis from Kudymkar to Karagay. On the Karagay–Kudymkar highway, the vehicle attempted to overtake, entered the oncoming lane, and crashed into a car. The accident claimed the lives of three patients and the ambulance driver, with another patient and the car driver taken to the hospital. Minister of Health of the Perm Krai Anastasia Kruten reported on her Telegram channel that the surviving patient is in serious but stable condition, and the car driver is in moderate condition.
An eyewitness to the accident told 59.RU that a woman in a pink sweater was driving the car. Footage taken by a Perm resident shows that none of the passengers in the ambulance were wearing seat belts. The patients« bodies were piled on top of each other, and only one of them showed signs of life—an elderly man. The grandfather was sitting in shock with traces of blood on his face.
A journalist from 59.RU asked the Ministry of Health of Prikamye about the current condition of the survivors. The ministry responded that the car driver«s condition has improved.
“Both patients continue to receive treatment in the hospital. The man is in serious condition (referring to the patient from the ambulance — Ed.), and the woman (the car driver — Ed.) is in satisfactory condition,” the ministry told 59.RU.
