Governor of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratyev held a meeting on preventing problems related to expected adverse weather conditions in the region. The meeting was attended by deputy heads of the region, heads of municipalities, and leaders of relevant departments and emergency response services.

— Our strategic task is to ensure uninterrupted operation of all life support and transport systems, from roads and sidewalks to utilities and social institutions. It is necessary to organize systematic clearing and treatment of regional and municipal roads and streets in settlements to maintain unobstructed traffic. We must maximally prevent possible accidents on networks and respond promptly if they occur. People should not be left without water, heat, and electricity in such weather, — said Veniamin Kondratyev.

A high alert has been introduced in Sochi, reported the resort«s mayor Andrei Proshunin. In all districts of the city, monitoring of potentially dangerous areas has been intensified, storm drains have been additionally cleaned, and observation posts have been set up near rivers. 53 sensors are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the hydrological situation. In the coastal zone, access to winter beaches has been restricted; all equipment has been removed in advance. Road services are ready to work in both coastal and mountainous areas. Stocks of de-icing materials have been fully formed, and traffic is monitored by an automated system, Proshunin reported.

— We are monitoring landslide processes in Adler and Khosta districts. There is no threat to people or infrastructure. Equipment is working on Petrozavodskaya Street near an apartment building and on a section of highway near one of the mountain resorts. On Teplichnaya Street, we are waiting for the weather to improve to continue removing soil and free the roadway through a gardening cooperative. While the soil is waterlogged, we are conducting clearing work carefully — early intervention could only worsen the situation. Overall, more than a thousand specialists and about 450 pieces of special equipment have been prepared to eliminate possible consequences of the bad weather, — the mayor stated.

A repeated ground movement occurred also on the territory of a gardening cooperative near the Ministerskiye Ozyora residential complex. Employees of the Khosta district administration are on site and monitoring the situation. Engineering utilities — electricity and water supply — are not damaged, and there is no threat to residential buildings. Clearing work will be carried out after the intense precipitation ends.

In the Adler district, monitoring of the slope condition on Petrozavodskaya Street continues. The waterlogged soil continues to move toward the apartment building. There is no danger for the residents of the apartment building. Equipment is working on site, water is being pumped from the adjacent area. Rescuers and specialists from the district administration are on site and monitoring the dynamics around the clock.
