The owner of a Sochi hotel filed a police report about the theft of over 220,000 rubles ($2,400 at current rates) from her bank card. Investigators from the Central Police Department determined that the former administrator of the establishment was involved in the theft.

As a result of operational-search activities, police officers identified and detained the suspect — a 63-year-old resident of the Kirov region, who previously worked at the hotel — reported the press service of the Sochi City Police Department.

As it turned out, after being fired, the woman did not return the card to her employer, which she had for paying business expenses. Taking advantage of this, she decided to «invest» someone else«s money by buying a gold chain with it at a jewelry store. Immediately after the purchase, she went outside and sold the item for half its price.

All her actions — from the payment in the store to the moment of sale — were recorded by cameras of the «Safe City» system. This allowed the suspect to be detained in the shortest possible time.
