Snowfall Nearly Doubles Accidents in Voronezh Region

Traffic police data shows accident figures nearly doubling after heavy snowfall in the region.
The number of accidents in Voronezh Region increased sharply due to worsening weather, according to a report from the regional traffic police (GIBDD).
On Friday and Saturday, January 30 and 31, a heavy snowfall struck the region, causing road conditions to deteriorate. On Sunday, January 25, 98 accidents were recorded in the region (60 in Voronezh), but by January 31, this number had risen almost twofold to 178 accidents, with 112 occurring in the regional center. Three people were injured in collisions on Saturday. For comparison, a week earlier, five people were hurt in accidents, one fatally.
On Sunday, February 1, the accident count remained high—148 across the region, including 97 in Voronezh. Four people sustained injuries of varying severity that day.
