The preliminary cause of the fire that occurred yesterday, January 25, in the morning in a multi-story building at Vzletnaya Street 13/1 in the Kuzminki district of Moscow has been established. It was found that the fire may have started due to a short circuit in the wiring on the balcony. This was reported by the regional branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM).

«Investigators from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) are determining the cause of the fire. Preliminary findings indicate that the fire occurred due to a short circuit in electrical equipment on the balcony.»

The report of the incident came in at 7:14. An apartment on the seventh floor was on fire. The fire spread over 47 square meters. Thirty-five rescue workers and nine units of equipment were deployed on site. Four people were injured in the fire, one of them—a woman—died. The others were sent for outpatient treatment.

Earlier, NGS55.RU compiled all that is known about the incident in Kuzminki. After the fire, residents had to clean soot from the entrance.
