Residents of Arkhangelsk are complaining about a sewage breach near School No. 7. They claim that sewage has been spilling onto the street for several days. Children are walking near the foul-smelling puddles.
Internet users reported the sewage problems on 23 January.
«It»s the fourth day since the sewage pipes burst near the school on Karpogorskaya Street! The whole district reeks of feces, it«s impossible to breathe! The water utility knows about it but isn»t doing anything. They can«t even come to put up barriers! They»re probably waiting for kids to drown in this after school,« a local resident writes.
RVK-Arkhangelsk (the water and wastewater utility) reported that the problem was caused by a blockage.
«Specialists have begun to clear the blockage in the sewage network on Karpogorskaya Street. After the back-up is eliminated, we will flush and diagnose the network. If damage is identified, we will draw up a plan for repair measures,» the company said.
