Security detained after fatal altercation at City Mall

On the evening of January 21, a fight broke out between young people and security employees of one of the stores at the City Mall entertainment complex on Kolomyazhsky Prospect. A recording of the incident, showing a man lying on the floor being pressed down by others, appeared on Telegram channels on January 22.

According to preliminary information, the 24-year-old visitor was suspected of theft, after which he used an aerosol device. It is not reliably known whether the security guard hit the young man and how severely. According to witnesses, the guest had a seizure during the conflict. The rapid response team that arrived at the scene tried to revive him, but in serious condition he was hospitalized and later died in the hospital.

The Investigative Committee has begun an investigation into the incident, and examinations have been ordered. Law enforcement agencies detained three participants: two employees of the security organization aged 64 and 19, as well as an 18-year-old cleaning worker. Another 32-year-old security guard fled the scene and is wanted.

For now, protocols for petty hooliganism have been drawn up against the detainees. An aerosol launching device was seized at the scene of the incident.
