One of those killed in the crash of a training aircraft near Orsk was a 21-year-old cadet from the Moscow region. His name appeared on the list of those who died during the training flight, which was circulated by the media. Three people died on 2 February when a Diamond DA40 training aircraft crashed near Orsk. City head Artyom Vorobyov reported that an instructor and two cadets from the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation (SPbSUGA) were on board.

The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) confirmed that the four-seat DA-40 belonged to the university. Law enforcement officers have traveled to the scene and have initiated a pre-investigation check under the article on violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport (Article 263 of the Russian Criminal Code).

The mother of the cadet whose name appeared on the crew list told colleagues at MSK1.RU that her son had gone to the Orenburg region for practical training. However, neither he nor the university administration has contacted her yet.

«He hasn»t written yet, there«s still no information from him at all,» the cadet«s mother told MSK1.RU. »He said: «Mom, my flight will be somewhere around ten or eleven o»clock.« I just checked, it was at 10:10, I think.»
