Schoolgirl douses students with gasoline, sets them on fire

In a Krasnoyarsk school, a female student doused students with gasoline and set them on fire. As a result, three children were injured. Here are the details of the incident.

«An eighth-grader threw an incendiary mixture into the classroom. As a result, three children were injured,» school students told our colleagues at NGS24.RU.

At first, the students thought it was just a flash. After that, teachers extinguished the students and the fire on their own.

According to the Telegram channel Mash, one victim was diagnosed with second- to third-degree burns on the back, face, and limbs. They cover at least 30% of the body.

His clothing was completely destroyed by fire. Doctors assess the teenager«s condition as stable; there is no threat to life.

Doctors are checking the condition of two other injured students. According to our colleagues, one of the children is in serious condition at a burn center.

Updated 12:32 p.m. Moscow time: The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnoyarsk region (GU MVD) reported that the girl threw a burning rag into the classroom and struck the children several times with a hammer. Two students were hospitalized with moderate traumatic brain injuries, TASS reports.

The portal NGS24.RU reports that police and Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard) officers are currently working on the school grounds.

The schoolgirl has already been detained. This information was confirmed by the regional Investigative Committee (SK).

«The girl has been detained, and necessary investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of what happened. In addition, a legal assessment will be given to the actions (or inaction) of the educational institution«s officials regarding security,» the agency reported.
