Schoolboy mixes chemical into soda out of boredom near Kazan

A seventh-grader who added a chemical substance to a drink for his classmates at the Algorithm Lyceum in the village of Kuyuki did it «out of boredom,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan reported.

The teenager told police that he added the chemical to soda for entertainment. He treated his peers during the break, and they were then taken to the Republican Children«s Clinical Hospital (DRKB). The students have already been discharged and are under outpatient observation.

A protocol was drawn up against the teenager«s mother for failure to fulfill duties for the maintenance and upbringing of minors (Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The schoolboy»s behavior will be discussed by the Juvenile Affairs Commission (PDN).

Earlier it became known that on January 21, a pupil of the Algorithm Lyceum brought a reagent from a play set to classes and mixed it into soda, offering the drink to three classmates. Now, the lives and health of the children are not in danger. The prosecutor«s office will check the educational institution for compliance with safety rules.
