Schoolboy dies after slipping on ice near Volgograd

In the Volgograd region on February 2, a 12-year-old schoolboy died. The boy slipped on an icy road, fell, and suffered a fatal head injury.
The incident occurred in the city of Petrov Val in the Kamyshin district, as the child was on his way from school to a group session with an educational psychologist.
According to the school director, the student had strayed from the path and was found unconscious by other children. They immediately reported it to the class teacher.
«I came to the scene, we called an ambulance twice, but it didn«t take him,» the school director said.
The head of the Kamyshin municipal district, Elena Beregovaya, confirmed the child«s death. She noted that the boy»s father had died earlier while participating in the special military operation.
«According to the schoolchildren, he slipped and fell on his back, hitting his head,» said Beregovaya. «The teacher called an ambulance, but on the way to the hospital, the boy died.»
The press service of the Volgograd region governor«s apparatus, referring to the health committee, stated that emergency medical aid was given to the minor. Resuscitation efforts were made both at the scene and in the hospital, but they failed to save the patient.
The investigative committee for the region said that no information about the incident has been received so far. Earlier, a request to the region«s health committee went unanswered.
