Classes were canceled at School No. 6 in the village of Saratovskaya near Goryachy Klyuch on 20 January due to a lack of heating. This was reported by the head of Goryachy Klyuch, Sergey Belopolsky.
According to him, the cause was a failure during a scheduled delivery of diesel fuel to the boiler room. Because of this, it was not possible to maintain the required temperature even the day before, and in the morning the boiler room had to be shut down.
Belopolsky apologized to the parents and stressed that such situations are unacceptable in the winter. He ordered an internal investigation. Following the inquiry, those responsible will be held accountable.
«Such a situation must not happen again,» added Belopolsky.
The city head noted that the problem is being resolved. It is expected that the school will return to normal operation on 21 January. In order not to disrupt the curriculum, the canceled school day is planned to be moved to the nearest Saturday.
