School Guard Refused to Help During Knife Attack, Student Says

The security guard at Kodinsk School No. 4, where a student attacked another girl with a knife, refused to help children when they ran to her. This is stated in a voice message from one of the students, which was forwarded to the NGS24.RU editorial office by the Interregional Center for Children«s Rights.

According to the boy«s story in the message, he and four friends ran to the security desk during the attack. The students told the guard that someone was »trying to stab the chemistry teacher« and asked her to do something, like check the surveillance cameras. The woman allegedly replied in a »calm tone« that »it«s not my job.»

«We»re standing there thinking, «What do you mean it»s not your job?!« You»re the guard, at least press the panic button,« the student said indignantly in the voice message.

They also approached a cleaner, who directed them to one of the teachers (the boy named that teacher — his first name and patronymic are listed on the school«s website among the teaching staff).

«We run to [him], his eyes are like saucers, we immediately ran to the chemistry room, he runs up to Feliksovna [the chemistry teacher], says: »What, how, where?« They explain that a girl stabbed her with a knife. They say she stabbed her well, they took her away in an ambulance,» the boy recounts.

According to him, the attack happened like this. When the chemistry teacher stood up from her desk, the student «jumps up from her seat, starts jabbing her with a knife, trying to stab her.» After two unsuccessful strikes, one of the students «flies over» to the girl and «throws her off.» The schoolgirl ran after him, but the student hid in one of the classrooms. Then the girl apparently switched to a student from a parallel class, whom she wounded. Shortly before, the boy from the voice message and his friends had run to the security desk.

A relative of one of the students confirmed to NGS24.RU some details of the described story that she knew (the names of the attacker and the boy who pushed her away).

As previously reported, a 14-year-old student brought a kitchen knife to school in Kodinsk and wounded a girl. The attacker was detained. According to the official version, the conflict occurred due to the «emotional state of the schoolgirl against the backdrop of difficult relationships with other students.» The girl is being raised in a complete, large family and is not registered with prevention authorities. Details are being clarified, and the issue of providing psychological help to the child will be decided.

Two criminal cases have been opened into the incident — one for attempted murder and one for negligence.
