Samara Region Joins 'Golden Group' in Federal Ranking
Federal experts assessed the region«s tourism development for the national ranking.
Tourism experts have recognized Samara Region. It secured a position in the top 30 of the national rating.
The annual research was conducted by the magazine «Rest in Russia» in collaboration with the Center for Information Communications «Rating». The study focuses on the development of domestic and inbound tourism, assessing the appeal, potential, and popularity of Russian regions among local and international tourists. The ranking is based on statistical data, media coverage, and expert evaluations.
In 2025, Samara Region joined the leaders« list in the ranking, securing 11th place out of 85 Russian regions. The »golden« group comprises regions that enhance visitor infrastructure, establish new attractions, and position themselves as leisure destinations.
«We are pleased with Samara Region»s achievements. We will continue to organize major events, support entrepreneurs, and develop and upgrade tourism infrastructure, aiming to make Samara Region one of the top destinations for travelers,« said the region»s tourism minister, Ekaterina Matveeva.
Recently, tourism development in Samara has become a true priority for the authorities. To this end, they even established a dedicated department.
