Samara Oblast faces missile strike threat
Sirens sounded across Samara Oblast as authorities warned of a possible missile strike.
Early Tuesday morning, July 21, sirens wailed in Samara Oblast. Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported this on his channel on Max.
“Attention. Missile danger in Samara Oblast! Take shelter in rooms without windows with solid walls. Do not approach windows. If you are outside or in transport, head to the nearest shelter or other safe place. Emergency services phone number is 112,” — wrote the head of the region.
The mayor of Samara also reported the missile danger. Ivan Noskov reminded of the rules of conduct if you can reach the nearest shelter:
Close windows tightly;
Turn off gas, water, and electricity;
Take essential items: documents, mobile phone, cash, bank cards;
Warn neighbors in case they didn’t hear the signal;
Provide assistance to the sick, children, disabled, and elderly;
Do not use the elevator, proceed to the shelter.
Representatives of Rosaviatsiya (Federal Air Transport Agency) introduced restrictions on flights at Kurumoch. In addition to Samara Oblast, airspace is closed over Ulyanovsk, Volgograd, Saratov, and Gelendzhik.
The last time missile danger was declared in the region was on the morning of Friday, July 17. Due to this, public transport temporarily stopped in the regional capital. At Kurumoch, departures and arrivals of 92 flights were delayed. The all-clear was announced about 40 minutes later.
