The bus accident in central Rostov was caused by snow not cleared from the roadside. This was stated to 161.RU by Alan Bolataev, director and owner of the «Southern Transport Company» (YUTK), which operates route No. 27.

«The roadsides haven»t been cleared. The bus hit the brakes, slipped, and knocked over the stop and a pole. Racing wasn«t involved,» he said.

According to the Rostov administration, the accident occurred due to a collision between buses No. 83 and 27. But, Bolataev asserts, it wasn«t like that.

«Bus No. 83 is not involved in the accident. It»s just that when our bus hit the brakes, it skidded, and No. 83 was slightly grazed,« he says.

Fortunately, he continues, no one was injured in the accident — neither the driver nor the passengers. And there was no one at the bus stop at that moment.

The damaged bus will be repaired. For now, it remains at the accident site, as traffic police inspectors continue to process the documents.

Earlier, the traffic police said that the accident occurred when the driver of bus No. 27 was trying to release the vehicle from the handbrake. And Rostov authorities promised to restore the bus stop.
