Rosaviatsiya commented on the tragedy that occurred today in Orsk: there, as reported by 56.RU, in the area of the village of Dzhanatalap, a training aircraft Diamond DA-40 crashed. Its registration number is now known — RA-02673.

The plane was registered to a civil aviation university based in St. Petersburg.

According to available information, on board the aircraft were a 36-year-old pilot-instructor Vasily N., and two cadets (20-year-old Timofey K. and 21-year-old Dmitry S.). All three died: the administration of Orsk and the government of the Orenburg Region promise to provide any assistance to their relatives.

As was known from preliminary data, the aircraft belonged to the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation (SPbGU GA). A pre-investigation check is being conducted.

Rosaviatsiya classified the incident as a disaster. The investigation into its causes will be handled by the Interstate Aviation Committee with the participation of the Volga Regional Department of Rosaviatsiya. The head of the agency, Dmitry Yadrov, and the rector of SPbGU GA, Yury Mikhalchevsky, are flying to Orsk.

— The investigation will be conducted in accordance with the Rules for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents with Civil Aircraft in the Russian Federation. […] The key goal of the investigation is to establish the causes of the disaster and take measures to prevent them in the future, — Rosaviatsiya reported.
