«The pilot instructor and cadets on board were part of our aviation team. Their passing is a great loss not only for their fellow students and mentors, but for all of us. We will make every effort to ascertain the causes of what happened to prevent anything similar from occurring in the future. A comprehensive and thorough investigation into the causes of the tragedy has already begun,» Rosaviatsia stated.

Emergency services responded to the crash site in the village of Dzhanatalap as part of the investigation.

Orsk Mayor Artem Vorobyov is also mourning: a spontaneous memorial has been organized at the «Aviators of All Generations» monument.

Recall that on February 2, 2026, at 12:51, a message was received by the «112» dispatcher about the crash of a Diamond DA-40 aircraft with registration number RA-02673. It crashed in the area of the village of Dzhanatalap.

There were three people on board: 36-year-old Vasily N. (pilot instructor), as well as 21-year-old Dmitry S. and 20-year-old Timofey K. (cadets).

All three died: Timofey«s father spoke with colleagues from E1.RU, and Dmitry»s mother— with colleagues from MSK1.RU. Orsk Mayor Artem Vorobyov and Governor Yevgeny Solntsev promised to provide any assistance to the families and loved ones of the deceased. Condolences were also expressed by Buguruslan Mayor Dmitry Dyachenko— it is in this city that there is a «flight school», about whose aircraft emergencies we reported— in the region, there have been 5 emergencies with «Diamonds» over 5 years.

The crashed aircraft belonged to the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation. A pre-investigation check was conducted, and a criminal case has already been initiated. Rosaviatsia classified the incident as a catastrophe: the investigation will be handled by the Interstate Aviation Committee.
