Road workers seriously injured in highway crash airlifted to Perm
In an accident on the Berezniki–Solikamsk highway, several road workers were seriously injured and hospitalized in a local hospital. A day later, the victims were taken to Perm by an air ambulance helicopter. Details were provided by the head of the regional Ministry of Health, Anastasia Kruten.
Video of the accident«s aftermath appeared in the »DTP Solikamsk« community on VKontakte at 19:00 on January 21. The footage shows that the road workers» minibus has a dented rear. Nearby, a dump truck is seen with a cracked windshield and partially damaged bumper. According to the Ministry of Health, three injured road workers were immediately taken to the city hospital in Solikamsk after the accident.
Around 17:00 on January 22, doctors from the Perm Regional Hospital arrived by air ambulance helicopter for the road workers — two resuscitation teams, a neurosurgeon, a thoracic surgeon, and an endoscopist. First, the specialists examined each patient, and one of them underwent an additional X-ray.
‘For all the victims, doctors determined a stable but severe condition — the men sustained serious injuries, two were on artificial lung ventilation,’ it says in Anastasia Kruten«s Telegram channel. ‘The risks during transportation of such patients are always high, but the professionalism of resuscitators and the equipment of the helicopter»s medical module allowed for the routine delivery of all to hospitals.’
The helicopter evacuation took three hours. In Perm, the aircraft was met by three resuscitation vehicles, on which the victims were taken to hospitals in the regional center.
The head of the Ministry of Health thanked the doctors of the Solikamsk city hospital and ambulance service, as well as the specialists of the air ambulance and the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine.
In Perm, on January 20, another serious incident occurred: on Yakutskaya Street, a container fell from a trailer and crashed into a passenger bus. The bus driver tried to brake and swerve. No one was injured in the accident.
