Rescuers save fishermen stranded in -30°C Bashkiria

Winter fishing on the Pavlovsk Reservoir for four men almost ended in tragedy — at the «12 Apostles» rocks, the fishermen«s snowmobile broke down. It would have been fine, but to the shore — about 13 km over ice and snow, and in recent days, as you know, there have been unbearable cold temperatures — down to -30…-35°C (-22…-31°F).

Fortunately for the lucky men, rescuers from the State Committee of Bashkiria for Emergency Situations (GK Bashkirii po ChS) arrived at the scene. After assessing the situation, they decided not to take risks and evacuated the fishermen using a hovercraft. All four were safely delivered to a recreation base, and medical assistance was not needed.
