Reindeer herder evacuated for medical assistance in Zabaykalsky Krai
Rescue workers involved in the evacuation of a reindeer herder in a remote area of Zabaykalsky Krai.
Employees of the search and rescue service «Zabaykalpozhspas» evacuated a man from a reindeer herding camp in the valley of the Sülban River in Kalarsky District, as he required medical assistance. This was reported on February 3 in the Telegram channel of the region«s Ministry of Forestry.
«An emergency rescue operation to evacuate a reindeer herder from the valley of the Sülban River in Kalarsky District has been successfully completed. The man, who was at a reindeer herding camp, was taken to a medical facility to receive necessary assistance,» the publication states.
According to the department, the message about the urgent evacuation came from a woman from the village of Chara. She contacted local rescuers because her husband felt unwell and told her about it via satellite phone.
Upon receiving the message, rescuers along with a paramedic quickly set out first in a UAZ vehicle to the river, then on a «Buran» snowmobile to reach the scene. The doctor assisted the man, and then he was taken to the hospital.
