Prosecutor's Office to Check Causes of Fire at Industrial Building in Kola
The fire in Kola was assigned rank 1-BIS and engulfed two floors of a large industrial building.
The prosecutor«s office of the Kola District has taken control of the investigation into the causes of a fire that occurred in an industrial, non-residential building in the town of Kola.
According to preliminary data, the fire started on January 22, 2026, around 19:00. The blaze occurred in a building located on Kamenny Ostrov Street in the Murmansk Region.
The prosecutor«s office has organized an inspection. It will assess whether legal requirements, including fire safety regulations, were followed. If violations are identified, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.
At the scene, the work of law enforcement and emergency services is being coordinated by Kola District Prosecutor Sergei Illarionov.
Recall that firefighters were called to a rank 1-BIS fire. The building measures approximately 20 by 40 meters. The fire engulfed the entire third and fourth floors.
