Prosecutor's Office Launches Probe into Power Outage in Arkhangelsk Region

The prosecutor«s office of Arkhangelsk region is conducting an inspection into the power outage in the Pinezhsky and Kholmogorsky districts. According to their data, a total of 105 settlements have been left without electricity.
More than 22,000 people are experiencing the blackout in both districts. Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported that 9,171 homes were without power, as well as 85 socially significant facilities, including schools, kindergartens, and boiler houses.
«During the inspections, an assessment will be made of the actions of responsible persons in promptly eliminating emergency situations related to the power supply outage. If grounds are found, measures of prosecutorial response will be taken,» the prosecutor«s office reports.
Recall that the first accident became known on the morning of February 2. In areas where electricity was lost, today schools and kindergartens did not open, but in the districts, homes continue to be heated. Hospitals are operating, while feldsher-midwife stations (FAPs) are closed.
Power was planned to be restored to homes by 14:00 and even announced the end of the blackout at 13:00, but then the accident repeated.
