According to the Investigative Committee for Stavropol Krai, on the morning of 30 January, a 54-year-old man was taken to a medical facility due to an exacerbation of a chronic illness. However, on the night of 31 January, ambulance staff returned the resident to his home without escorting him inside. He was not hospitalized. A report about the incident was filed with the MVD department for the city of Pyatigorsk.

Law enforcement officials said the man is now back in the hospital, where doctors are clarifying his diagnosis and determining a treatment plan.

«On the instructions of acting head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Stavropol Krai, O. E. Sidorov, an inspection has been organized in the investigative department for the city of Pyatigorsk, during which the actions of responsible persons will be given a proper legal assessment,» the press service of the agency noted.

Currently, the Investigative Committee and the MVD of Stavropol Krai are interviewing witnesses and reviewing documentation.
