Pressure Drop: Novosibirsk Flight Emergency Lands in Krasnoyarsk

An aircraft traveling from Novosibirsk to Yakutsk made an unplanned landing in Krasnoyarsk. The transport prosecutor«s office has launched an inspection.

According to the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor«s Office, a Yakutia Airlines plane made an unplanned landing at the D. A. Khvorostovsky International Airport in Krasnoyarsk due to a technical issue.

«The landing was carried out in normal mode. Passengers have been accommodated in the airport terminal building,» the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor«s Office reported. »The Krasnoyarsk Transport Prosecutor«s Office is conducting supervisory measures to protect the rights of passengers to receive the set of services due during the delay of this flight.»

Yakutia Airlines told NGS that on January 22 at 23:08 local time, flight 466 Moscow–Novosibirsk–Yakutsk departed from Novosibirsk Airport.

«Approximately an hour later, the crew noticed a drop in cabin pressure and reported a technical malfunction. To ensure flight safety, the aircraft commander decided to divert to the alternate airport in Krasnoyarsk. At 01:30 local time, the aircraft landed,» the airline«s press service reported.

The carrier«s representatives are conducting an internal investigation and searching for the fault.

Passengers will be taken to their final destination by a reserve aircraft, which is now being prepared for departure from Moscow.

«The approximate departure time from Krasnoyarsk to Yakutsk is set for 13:40 local time,» Yakutia Airlines added.

On January 6, NGS reported that a plane heading to Novosibirsk landed in Barnaul due to bad weather.
