Power Station Headed to Transbaikal Village After Freezing Blackout

Local residents express strong dissatisfaction with the prolonged power outage during severe cold.
A diesel power station is being transported to the village of Kaktolga in the Gazimuro-Zavodsky District, where a generator has broken down. District head Mikhail Ishenin told Chita.Ru on January 25 that power supply will be restored soon.
Power supply was lost in the village on January 23, when temperatures dropped to minus 45 degrees Celsius (minus 49°F).
Yesterday, a vehicle went to Budyumkan to pick up a reserve power station there. But their main one broke down, and they put the reserve into operation. I contacted the company «Areal» (formerly Highland Gold – Ed.), and they decided to help us. Today at 04:00 in the morning, a vehicle with a power station and a repair team set out. At 7 a.m., they called back, reported that they are on their way. Further on the road, there is no communication, but the vehicle should already arrive.
— said Mikhail Ishenin.
He suggested that the power station is already being installed and will be started up in the coming hours.
The district head also reported that authorities have purchased a power station for Kaktolga, which will arrive in the village next week. Also, a new station was bought by the company — the concessionaire «Hevel». One of the stations will be the main one, the second — the reserve.
