Residents of the area are sharing details on social media. Janna writes: «Uralmash is without light again. Ordzonikidze Avenue.» Ekaterina adds: «The Voters» Quarter — 40th Anniversary of October — Pobeda — Lomonosova is sitting without light.« Viktor reports: »Krasnopolyansky Lane, Zeleny Lane, Narodnogo Fronta Street — no light. There was no warning about the outage.«
The press service of Rosseti Ural explained that the failure was caused by a disruption in the distribution network. Power supply is limited in the square of streets: Respublikanskaya, Molodezhi, Pobedy, Kalinina, Uralskikh Rabochikh.
According to energy workers, electricity supply is planned to be restored within two hours.
This is not the first case of mass outages in the region. Earlier, due to severe frosts and network overloads, thousands of Sverdlovsk residents in several villages were left without electricity. Some residents had to spend the night by candlelight. Specialists explain such incidents by consumers exceeding the established power norms, which leads to equipment failure.
