On the evening of July 20, a fire broke out at a polymer production facility in the Yuzhny microdistrict of Vsevolozhsk. The fire engulfed a warehouse building located near residential houses.

According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Leningrad Region, a fire alarm was received at the address: Vsevolozhsky Prospekt, building 117, building 1. Responding units discovered a fire in the warehouse production building. The department noted: «Upon arrival of fire and rescue units, a fire was occurring in the warehouse production building. According to preliminary information, the fire area is 5,900 square meters.» Fifty rescuers and 20 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing.
Fire crews work to contain the blaze at the industrial site near residential buildings.
According to open sources, companies Terra-plast, Mixplast, and the Center for Radiation Technologies are located at this address. Witnesses clarify that a one-story building used as a warehouse, which does not have a separate address and is located nearby, is on fire.
